Your Wish Is Granted. But What Do You Wish For?

Imagine.

A genie appears before you and proclaims; “I can grant you whatever you want or whatever you need. Tell me now mortal being, which do you wish for?“.

What I want!“, I’d retort.

In a heartbeat.

If I think back on the decisions I’ve made, it was those based on desire that brought my greatest lessons. Striving for what I wanted meant I was engaged. I stretched my limits for the promise of accomplishment. Through pursuing what I wanted, I’ve had the luxury of indulging my passions.

There is nothing better.

With fascination, I have allowed myself to entertain curiosity.

Aspirations – and there’s been a few – have delivered just what I needed to learn at that point in time.

Recap right there.

Following what I wanted, delivered just what was needed….

What was needed to be learned.

Look around you. Do you notice that you already have what you need? What you could do with more of is teachings. Learnings. Bettering. Stretching. Being truer to who you are. And you know how you can do that?

Follow your heart. Pursue what you want fellow mortal.

It’s true. You can’t always get what you want, but pursuing your desires will most definitely bring what you need to learn at that point in time.

Good or bad. But it’s what you need at that point in time.

Life’s like that.

Now go.

PS. One final question. Would you; as an employee, friend, lover or otherwise; rather be wanted or needed? Please share your thoughts and views.
